lyrics

sifting through these piles;
i've left them all for years
to ignore the incessant knocking,
and the constant disgust
it's not that i'm not thinking
or that all disconnection is all that i seek;
i'm just ignoring all loose memories

where are the boot-straps?
i'd like to pull myself up.
hoping to ignore the obvious solution
and the painful consequences
it's not that i'm not thinking
or that i'm something great
but rather far too prideful
to admit by myself, i am far too weak

so release the guard strap
and push me forward
i'm no longer the boy my parents groomed of me

i'm incredibly shallow, and i've made 12 dozen mistakes,
but it's time for me the man my God grooms me to be

i'm tired of trying too hard,
or rather falling too short,
for one day i hope my Creator was proud to call me into bring
